rainbow root magick soup
Fall is falling and winter is impending. Plants are beginning to send their energy below ground to support the vitality in their root systems~drinking rain, rain through mud and storing beautiful crystalline mineral structures that our human bodies also need to get hydrated, saciate our kidneys adrenal glands, and keep our bellies warm. Eating a yummy rainbow root soup can also help us to nurture and connect to our own sense of grounded rootedness durring the windy changes of the season.
Keeping a pot of soup on the stove can keep us warm on cold days and also can reveal some of the color and wonder hidden within the underworld durring the darker months of the year.
Heart Beet
I usually choose to cook things because there is something about the ingredient that is inspiring to me, wether it's the color, shape, texture or flavor I choose it because it makes me want to play with my food.
When I make soup I like to cook my veggies in the order that they grew. Cooking the hardest part of the plant first :
- the seeds~ether
- the roots~earth
- the stems and stalks~water
- the leafs~fire
- The flowers-air
